Before implementation of any new project of expansion of existing projects, Environmental Public Hearing is conducted. Salient features are:

Giving notice of one month - public participation is ensured.
Proceedings are conducted by the Regional Officer of the State Pollution Control Board concerned.
The District Collector concerned presides over the proceedings.
The panel consists of three senior citizens of the area and three Government Officers.
