Centre for Geostatistics was established in
1994 with the Co-operation of Centre de Geostatistique, ecole des mines, Fontainebleau,
France and French Government. The objective in opening of the centre is to give training
in the field of Geostatistics to the Geologists, Mining Engineers & computer Engineers
and to take up consultancy assignments for Geostatistical Ore Reserve Estimation. The
centre has so far trained aboout 200 persons from 45 different organisations through a
number of workshops and training programs. Some of the organizations to which it has
extended its consultancy services include SAIL, MALCO and APMDC. The
centre is equipped with most comprehensive Geostatistical Software and computer hardware
suited to the needs of mineral industry. All the officers of the Centre for Geostatistics
were trained at the Centre de Geostatistique , Fontainebleau, France which is the birth
place of Geostatistics. |
